Snow Painting

 

We started this winter with record breaking temperatures and LOTS of snow. I really love winter. Yes, it means more "indoor time" that I would hope but we get to craft a lot, and that is a win for me.

One easy and super fun project for cold and snowy days is painting snow. Watercolor painting is our "go-to craft" so it makes everything extra simple. Preparation is minimum and the kids always have a great time!

Materials:

• Water Proof tablecloth;
• Watercolor (we use this one );
• Assorted brushes (we use this set );
• Container for the snow; 
• Craft paper or white poster board.

After the table is set, I just let them paint the snow and the craft paper around. They really enjoy the experience and I count it as both a creative and a sensory experience.

Spooky Treats

The last few months of the year are seriously my favorite. Why? Because I get to be the "Crazy Craft lady".

I love creating things. I love crafty things. Hooray!! It’s so awesome!!

Just to give a full disclosure: This craft is a little outside of my comfort zone, but it was so fun, easy and cute that I just had to share! 

Here is a list of what we used: 

• 
  Candy Melt (we used black, purple, orange and green);
• A selection of cake sprinkles (black, green, purple, pink and my girls favorite: Rainbow);
• 1 bag marshmallows (we bought a bag from Trader Joe);
  
   
• Wilton Candy Eyeballs;
• 1 Pack of lollipop sticks. 

Easily enough, just melted the Candy melts, add the sprinkles and googly eyes. 

It was really fun, Olivia had a blast eating the sprinkles, Lucas got Candy Melt all over the place and I was so happy with our amazing desert!

Raising Creative Kids

I have been a mom for 4 and a half year tomorrow (Yay!).

I can honestly say that my favorite part of motherhood so far is "exploring" with the Kids. New tastes, new sounds, new experiences... It is wonderful and sooooo fun! Olivia was always a creative kid and I got to try so many new projects over the years, Lucas is more musical and it has been a different experience. I love the creative process, the planning and the results. My idea for this space is to share our projects and all the wonderful bonding experience that comes with being creative as a family.
